About Jaime
I have been handling dogs in conformation for over 15 years. It all started when I took a friends Australian Shepherd into a conformation class, and I haven't looked back since. I did a lot of Junior Handling with a variety of breeds, usually large, difficult dogs. I also enjoyed taking in the smaller breeds and looked forward to the learning experience no matter the size. I cannot thank all the breeders, and juniors judges that took the time to teach and talk to me about the dogs.

I have been involved with many dog sports from agility to obedience to tracking and flyball. In conformation, I have shown a large number of the breeds from all 7 groups. I have pointed and finished many breeds, as well as placing in the group ring. I have worked for 2.5years for professional handler, Beth Hilborn, PHA, and she has taught me some invaluable skills as a handler. I truly appreciate everything that Beth taught me and am enjoying passing on that knowledge to the people around me, as well as still learning from others around me.

I have also had my own grooming shop for 4 years and have worked as a groomer for a total of 8 years and I am still putting time in. I am currently working part time as a groomer in Melita, MB and Carnduff, SK.  Before that I was working as a Vet Tech in Prince Albert, Sk and the experiences I am getting are amazing and I am so glad to be learning more and more about our wonderful canines. I have taught obedience, agility and conformation classes for many years for a few clubs in the Victoria, BC area. I bred Fawn and Brindle Great Danes and Smooth Fox Terriers.

Our mode of transport
The Chic Team travels to the shows in a 2007 3500 Chevrolet Express Van. All the dogs are in kennels as we feel this is the safest way for any dog to travel.

Jaime’s set up at home
At home in Deloraine( 1hr South of Brandon, MB) we are situated on a section with a 25 acre homesite. We have a large fenced off paddock ( 120ft x 80ft) with more paddocks coming in the future (20ft x 100ft). For when we are not working/training/exercising/snuggling the dogs, they have our kennel building, you can read about it below.

We go on at least 2 walks per day around our property and they can be individual walks or walks with the pack depending on your dog. Each dog gets exercised depending on their needs and energy levels. Every day each dog gets worked with on an individual basis, and we work on whatever they need. For example, leash work, distraction training, hand stacks, free stacks, table stacks and socialization. The dogs are in the house spending time with us. Each dog is groomed and/or bathed on a regular basis. At night each dog goes to bed in their kennel for their own private and relaxation time. We stick to as close as your feeding schedule as possible, feeding once or twice a day depending on your wants.

Please excuse my trackpants and winter jacket and boots, I wasn't expecting anyone to be taking my picture!

About the Kennel

There are 4 separate areas, the first is the Kennel Area, here we have 20 indoor/outdoor runs with infloor heat to keep everyone warm on the cold winter nights. 10 pens lead out to 3x10 outdoor areas, 3 pens lead out to a 4x20 outdoor area, 6 pens lead out to a 5x10 outdoor area and the last pen is our 'deluxe suite' for multi dogs or giant breeds, and it is a 10x20foot outdoor area. All our chainlink kennels have cement outdoors.  All the pens are heavy-duty 6feet chainlink installed by PWR Fencing. They did a wonderful job and installed everything to our exact wants and needs. We use all stainless food and water dishes. In the kennels area the dogs get to listen to music, and get plently of one on one human attention, which they all love!

Then we have our storage area, which is home to our many freezers ( we feed raw food to our own dogs), our dog show paraphernalia and our van.

Next comes the Big room, it has our tables, huge dog dryer, bathtubs and other grooming supplies. It also is home to our kitchen, which has the usual fridge, stove and freezer.

Last is our puppy rooms. These rooms are fully enclosed 9x10rooms, also with infloor heat. One room leads out to a 10 by 20 foot playpen, and the other to a 20 by 40foot playpen. These rooms are used when we are not around to watch the puppies and their moms.

Pictures will be added shortly.
